Why would any intelligent life form want to visit a planet ruled by creatures as stupid as most Humans?

OK not to sound too overtly lawyerish here, but honestly, how do we know the elephant didn't have it coming to him?
Obviously just kidding, I couldn't agree any more with your sentiment, GL, except I agreed with you without even having to read the thread, the title pretty much spoke for itself.

I was sorry not to read that the elephant trampled them to death. Would have served them right.
As to the tiger attack, maybe the survivors will think twice about taunting a wild animal next time...

Actually, this might explain why the aliens like to "probe" certain areas. They are obviously looking for brains.
Next time, they should make sure they are inside the cars!

DING DING DING!
WE HAVE TWO WINNERS TODAY FOLKS!
They should have at least put the check in his hand! SHEESH!
Men accused of swiping check, wheeling corpse to check-cashing store
Remember the movie Weekend at Bernie's? Well, in a case of life imitating art, two New Yorkers are accused of wheeling their own corpse around town in a bid to cash the dead man's Social Security check.
When Virgilio Cintron died of natural causes in his Hell's Kitchen apartment, authorities say his roommate and a friend saw an opportunity to make some easy money. The New York Times quotes police sources who say that James O'Hare and David Dalaia swiped the dead man's $355 government check and then used an office chair to wheel his body to a check-cashing store around the corner from his apartment.
"Witnesses observed Mr. Cintron flopping from side to side and these individuals propping him up as they rolled along," NYPD spokesman Paul Browne tells the Daily News.
When the men tried to cash his $355 government check inside the Pay-O-Matic Check Cashing store, police say a clerk sent them outside to retrieve Cintron. By that time, a crowd had gathered around the body and a cop had called for an ambulance. They men were arrested. Police say they may be charged with fraud.
WCBS-TV spoke with eyewitnesses. Marta Reman, a neighbor of the two men, says they were "on the eccentric side." (The Associated Press says no one answered the phone in Cintron's apartment last night.)
This is the perfect tabloid story, and the New York Post doesn't disappoint with its headline: "'SCAM' DUO MUST HAVE MADE PAL DIE LAUGHING."
In the blogosphere, Dalaia and O'Hare made the site "People You'll See in Hell." Tim Worstall gets all technical on his blog, asking readers "is SS paid in advance or in arrears? If in arrears, then that check belongs to his estate, doesn't it?"
I really just dont what to say here, but this really fit the topic of the thread perfectly.
Maybe next time, they should try the old hold him up between you with his legs strapped to yours trick. Or not!

Regarding the Weekend at Bernie's guys....I've always had a soft-spot in my heart for effort. And if I'm the judge, I'm tossing that case out and telling those guys Merry Christmas, but don't let me see you in here again. To take a corpse and wheel him around and try to have him sign checks...I'm sorry, they get an A for effort.
Now, as for animals, all I can say is, I root for them. I know that sounds like I'm being a traitor to my species, but I really do. Whenever I watch a movie in which animals and humans go at it, I always pull for the animals. Watching Tippi Hedren get attacked by sea gulls...I mean, it gets no better than that. "Jaws" is a great movie, too, until the end.

Lew, your last paragraph reminded me of a rant I saw on Media Research Center.

I think L. Brent Bozell III needs an injection of a sphincter relaxant.
